I’m a California native who relocated with my husband to a fixer-upper in Washington’s Kitsap Peninsula in late 2011. After completely renovating our home, my husband and I sold it and founded Yellow Ribbon Homes, a company providing high quality residential construction, renovation, and remodeling services with integrity. We are committed to improving the housing stock in our local communities and to recognizing the contributions of military personnel to the Puget Sound region by hiring veterans and contracting with veteran owned businesses when possible.
I became a real estate broker in November 2015 at the suggestion of Infinity’s founder, Jennie Wetter, who represented my husband and me several times as buyers and sellers, both personally and for our business. With Infinity we share the values of professionalism, transparency, excellence, and integrity. In addition to my role as dedicated broker for Yellow Ribbon Homes, I am excited about using my skills to help others sell their homes, or find and buy their next right home—fixer upper or not.
I have a wealth of personal experience as a home buyer, seller, landlord, renovator, and designer that includes extensive online research, new construction knowledge including waterfront property, infrastructure in new development, traditional and alternative septic systems, condos, short sales, manufactured homes on site built
foundations, additions, demolition, tenant rights, hosting through Airbnb, and title and boundary line issues.
In college I majored in Political Science/Public Service, interned with the City Council, and served a short stint on the Planning Commission, providing me with an understanding of planning, zoning, and other regulations.
I am a Certified Staging Agent, and in addition to home renovation and real estate, I have an MFA in Creative Writing, and spend my time writing, editing, leading writing workshops, and blogging (find me at cathywarner.com). My hobbies include photography, ocean kayaking, and learning about Washington wines.
